On June 25, our Northern Youth Idea Generation Lab kicked off!
Participants from Naryn, Issyk-Kul, Talas, and Chui oblasts, representatives of different religions and beliefs came together to learn about the religious diversity of Kyrgyzstan.
During the first day we examined the condition of the religious sphere in Kyrgyzstan in history and the present. We explored the specifics of our identities and determined the values we all share.
Day Two began with an exploration of secularism: why secularism is not antireligious, and why it is important for all religious organizations to flourish in the country.
Participants from a wide variety of backgrounds were able to engage in constructive dialogue and ask the trainers and each other questions.
After getting to know each other, all the guys received branded merch as a symbol of our unity in diversity!
From now on the program will only get more interesting. Continuation will follow!
The Idea Generation Lab is organized by the Research Center for Religious Studies with the support of Search for Common Ground Kyrgyzstan
